Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup vegetable shortening
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Lightly grease two baking sheets.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to cream butter, shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg is added. Beat in vanilla.
In a medium bowl, combine flour and baking soda.
Stir into butter mixture. Carefully fold in chocolate chips.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoons about 2″ apart onto prepared sheets.
Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are just lightly brown. Cool on sheets 10 minutes before removing. Serve.
